Oakland County Receives International Technology Award For Innovative Use of Products in IT Management

Pontiac, MI, April 23, 2007 – Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson and Deputy County Executive & CIO Phil Bertolini attended the 2007 CA World Conference where they accepted the VIP Vision Award on behalf of Oakland County from one of the world’s largest Information Technology management software companies.

The award, presented by Computer Associates (CA), recognizes Oakland County’s success in IT management excellence and for demonstrating a clear vision of how IT supports overall enterprise success.

“Phil and I will be accepting this very prestigious international award on behalf of IT’s 164 full-time employees and 40-plus professional service staff members who really deserve the credit for Oakland County’s tremendous achievements in the IT arena,” Patterson said.  “This award is further proof that Oakland County is highly regarded worldwide for its IT programs and services.”

CA officials say Oakland County is being honored because of establishing itself as a national leader in the development and implementation of cutting edge technology to better serve its citizens, communities and businesses.

Oakland County competed for the award against such internationally recognized and respected companies as Unilever, Fujjitsu-Siemens, Hewitt, Multicare and Scottish and Newcastle.
