Cranbrook Educational Community includes: Cranbrook Art Museum , Cranbrook Academy of Art, Cranbrook Institute of Science as well as schools and other affiliated cultural and educational programs. Also located on the 319 acre National Historic Landmark campus are Saarinen House and gardens and Cranbrook House and gardens.

Cranbrook House and Gardens Tours
Cranbrook House was designed by Detroit architect Albert Kahn in 1908 for Cranbrook founders George and Ellen Booth. Visit the oldest surviving manor home in metro Detroit, and see examples of the exquisite furnishings commisioned by some of finest artisans and craftsmen of the the early twentieth century. Saarinen House and Gardens
Completed in 1930, Saarinen House served as both studio and home to architect Eliel Saarinen and his wife, textile artist Loja Saarinen, from 1925-1950. Combining features of the Arts and Crafts movement, Art Deco design and impliments of style from the couple's Finnish heritage, the Saarinen House is an amazing work of art.  Don't miss the chance to tour one of Michigan's treasures nestled right here in Oakland County. Meadow Brook Hall is the fourth largest historic house museum in the United States and is especially renowned for its superb craftsmanship, architectural detailing and grand scale. Built between 1926 and 1929 as the residence of Matilda Dodge Wilson (widow of auto pioneer John Dodge) and her second husband, lumber broker Alfred G. Wilson, the 110-room, 88,000-square-foot, Tudor-revival style mansion is complete with vast collections of original art and furnishings.

Monday - Sunday  11:30am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm and 2:30pm

*Meadow Brook Hall will be closed July 4, 2008,
August 3-4,2008 and September 1, 2008.

Fall: September 2, 2008- November 25, 2008
Monday - Friday 1:30pm
Saturday & Sunday 11:30am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm and 2:30pm

*Meadow Brook Hall will be closed November 26-27, 2008

Meadow Brook Hall's Gardens
The gardens of Meadow Brook Hall are free and open to the public year-round; however the best viewing is during the spring, summer and fall months.
