Personal:
Nancy Quarles and her husband, Larry, live in the City of Southfield. She is returning to the Oakland County Board of Commissioners. She was first elected to the board in 1994. She served as a member of the General Government and the Planning and Building Committees.
In 1996, she became a member of the Michigan House of Representatives and she was term limited in 2002. During her tenure as a Representative, she served as the Chief Whip for the Democratic Vice Chair of the House Tax Policy Committee and the Elections and Redistricting Committee, and was a member of the Public Utility Committee.
She is holds a Ph. D., in Public Administration and Public Affairs from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Commissioner Quarles is owner of Advantage Consulting Group, Inc and is a professor at Central Michigan University.
