Quality of Life Committee
The Quality of Life Committee focuses on intangible elements that make Oakland County a premier location for businesses and families. Three elements received recent emphasis: Affordable Housing Natural Environment Education

Oakland County has more natural lakes than any other county in the Great Lakes State.
The County's overall crime rate has dropped 22% in the past 10 years.
Sixty percent of Fortune 500 companies and 50% of Global Fortune 500 companies have business locations in the County.
Oakland County has 168 state registered historic districts, 50 nationally registed historic districts, and 32 historic museums.
There are more than 100 active horse farms, 30 equine boarding facilities, 10 training facilities, and 6 breeding facilities in the County.
