The Community and Home Improvement Division invests millions of federal dollars to improve the lives of Oakland County's residents. The division administers the following programs funded through the US Department of Housing and Urban Development:

• Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG)
• Home Investment Partnership Grant (HOME) 
• Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG)
• Comprehensive Housing Counseling Grant (CHC) 
• Home Improvement Loan Program (HIP)

The Division provides no-cost, low interest (0-3 percent) home improvement loans to qualified residents.  These federal programs bring the needed dollars to provide revitalization to neighborhoods and vital human services to low and moderate-income residents in 50 participating communities.
