County Clerk/Register Swearing-In Set for Jan. 24th. State, County & Local Officials to Attend Bill Bullard Jr.'s Inauguration
Pontiac, Michigan, January 13, 2011 -- Bill Bullard Jr. will be ceremonially sworn into office during a short ceremony at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 24 in the Board of Commissioners Auditorium, 1200 N. Telegraph, in Pontiac. The public is welcome to attend. Special guests that day will include Oakland Circuit Judge Nanci J. Grant who will administer the oath of office, Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson who will serve as master of ceremonies and State Senator Mike Kowall and his wife, State Representative Eileen Kowall (R-White Lake Township) who will present a legislative resolution honoring Bullard. Other dignitaries expected to attend include Board of Commissioners Chairman Michael J. Gingell, Oakland County Deputy Executive Mike Zehnder, Oakland County Circuit Judge Wendy Potts, 52-1 District Court Judge Dennis Powers and local attorney Gordon Snavely. Bullard's friends and family, including his 92-year-old mother who is traveling all the way from Florida to attend the ceremony, will be in attendance. A reception will follow nearby in the Jury Assembly Room on the first floor of the Oakland County Courthouse. Bullard was appointed Oakland County Clerk/Register of Deeds in December to replace outgoing Clerk Ruth Johnson, who was elected as Michigan Secretary of State.
