Best of the Web

Oakland County was named the number one government Web site in the 2008 Best of the Web County Portal Category by the Center for Digital Government.

Best of Michigan 

Oakland County was awarded the 2008 Best Application Serving a Public Organization's Business Needs Award by the State of Michigan and Government Technology Magazine.


Center for Digital Government

Oakland County was ranked second in the nation by the Center for Digital Government in their 2008 Digital Counties Survey.


NACo Logo

Oakland County received 2008 Achievement Awards, for the Podcasts Project and the e-Gov Sharing Network, from the National Association of Counties.


Best of Michigan

Oakland County and Canton Public Safety were awarded with the 2007 Best IT Collaboration Amongst Organizations Award, by the State of Michigan and Government Technology Magazine.

Oakland County placed second in the 2007 Best of the Web County Portal Category by the Center for Digital Government.

Goverment Technology - Top 25


Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson and Deputy County Executive/CIO Phil Bertolini were named among Government Technology's Top 25 Doers, Dreamers and Drivers of 2007 who are shaping the future of government.

2006 Excellence in Technology Award


Oakland County was recognized with three 2006 Excellence in Technology Awards by the State of Michigan and Government Technology Magazine at the 2006 Michigan Digital Government Summit:

  • Phil Bertolini, Oakland County Deputy Executive Chief Information Officer, Visionary Award
  • Identity and Access Management, Best Application Serving a Public Organization's Business Needs Award

The Center for Digital Government recognized Oakland County's OakVideo with a 2006 Digital Government Achievement Award.  Oakland County was also named as a 2006 Best of the Web County Portal Finalist by the Center for Digital Government.

Oakland County's OakVideo digital arraignment system was named a 2006 CIO Magazine Top 100 Award Honoree.


National Association of Counties


2006 Achievement Awards, awarded by the National Association of Counties, were given to Oakland County's Criminal Justice Data Warehouse and the Department of Information Technology's Identity and Access Management Program.

2005 Achievement Awards from the National Association of Counties were given to the Oakland County CLEMIS Community CrimeWatch law enforcement Web site program and the OakSource enterprise portal and employee self-service human resources system.


Michigan Excellence in Technology Visionary Award


Michigan Excellence in Technology Visionary Award, was awarded to Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson by the State of Michigan for leading Oakland County into a time of unprecedented and robust economic growth, using technology as a primary tool in the way Oakland County provides government services.

Oakland County was named among the 2004 Agile 100 by CIO Magazine.

2004 CIO of the Year, awarded to Phil Bertolini, Oakland County Director of Information Technology by Automation Alley.


National Association of Counties


2004 Achievement Awards were given to Oakland County's Vital Records online service, eHealth well and septic permitting application, and the Department of Information Technology's Thin Client program by the National Association of Counties.

2004 Best IT Project, awarded to Oakland County's Vital Records online service by the Michigan Association of Governmental Computer Users.
