TB is a disease caused by a germ called Mycobaterium tuberculosis. This germ infects people, most commonly in the lung.
What are your hours for TB skin tests?
TB skin tests are done in the general clinic on the following days:
Monday: 12:00 noon – 8:00 p.m.
Tuesday & Wednesday: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Thursday: No Testing
Friday: 12:00 noon – 5:00 p.m.
No TB tests are given on Thursdays or Fridays before Monday holidays. Chest X-rays are done only by referral after talking with a nurse.
How long is the TB test good for?
Your employer or licenser will determine how often you need TB clearance.
When do I need to return to have my TB test read?
TB tests are read no sooner than 48 hours and no later than 72 hours after the skin test is given.
What does a positive TB test mean?
A positive TB test means that someone has been exposed to the TB germ and follow up evaluation is needed.
