Public Health Emergency Preparedness

Oakland County Health Division's Emergency Preparedness Unit is committed to protecting the public's health and safety by preparing for all types of emergencies such as natural disasters, disease outbreaks, and/or chemical spills.

The Emergency Preparedness Unit raises emergency readiness in the community by developing strong relationships with local partners, first responders and the media.

September is recognized as National Emergency Preparedness Month. We are encouraging all citizens to learn what type of emergencies impact their community, school, workplace and/or business. Being knowledgeable about your community’s hazards and vulnerabilities will help you develop a plan.  To develop a plan click here for a template.
