T.O.G.A. Extreme (Teens Outside Great Adventures)

Co-Ed/Ages 11 - 15
Base camp: Independence Oaks County Park
Camp Hours: 9:30 a.m. 3:30 p.m.

  • If you are using transportation from your community registration site, bus pick-up and drop-off times will be earlier and later than the times listed above. You will receive these times at registration.
  • Thursday night campout at Camp Wilderness (no transportation provided Thursday evening or Friday morning)

Junior Counselor Program

For ages 14 & older

If your answer is YES, the Oakland County Parks Junior Counselor program is looking for people just like you - ambitious and energetic young people looking for a challenging, rewarding experience and a chance to contribute their unique ideas. Your experience as a day camp junior counselor will give you awesome opportunities to learn and develop the skills you'll need for your future - skills like problem-solving, critical thinking, leadership, teamwork, teaching, and creativity.

You'll have fun and enjoy helping your campers grow and learn through the camp experience - all while equipping yourself for a more successful future.

Day Camp Director - Program Specialist
We're looking for leaders like you - who possess critical thinking, financial management, communication, decision making, relationship and conflict resolution skills - to lead our ambitious and energetic counselors!

Your job as a day camp director will require you to supervise and train a staff of 2 assistant directors, 12 counselors, 20 junior counselors; network with community partners; oversee bus transportation; manage the camp budget; and coordinate day-to-day camp operations.

The day camp director embodies the camp's mission and philosophy and is a role model for the staff, volunteers and campers.  You'll enjoy helping your staff to grow and learn through the camp experience - and challenging yourself!
