Zoning and Master Plan Review
About Zoning and Master Plan Review...
Oakland County is mandated under Michigan law to review all Master Plans and Master Plan amendments prior to adoption. The County also reviews township rezonings where the property abuts a community boundary or County-owned property.
The Land Use and Zoning staff reviews these plans and rezonings and submits a recommendation to the Oakland County Coordinating Zoning Committee (CZC). The CZC is a three-member sub-committee of the Planning and Building Committee of the Oakland County Board of Commissioners. The CZC provides an advisory recommendation only.
