Detroit Tigers Week at the Oakland Pet Adoption Center
Auburn Hills, MI, September 19, 2007: The Oakland Pet Adoption Center is teaming up with the Detroit Tigers to promote cat adoptions during a time of cat overcrowding at the adoption center.
Every person who adopts a cat at the Oakland Pet Adoption Center from September 29 - October 4 will be entered into a drawing to receive one of five signed Tigers photographs. The celebration will kick off at the year's largest adoption event, "Meet Your Best Friend at the Zoo" on September 29-30 at the Detroit Zoo, and continue through the following week.
The drawing will take place on Friday, October 5 at 3 p.m. You do not need to be present to win. All winners will receive a phone call if their name is called.
The five 5"x7" photos, autographed by 2006 American League Champions include; Brandon Inge, Sean Casey, Placido Polanco, Joel Zumaya and Carlos Guillen.
This year, the Oakland Pet Adoption Center, along with shelters across the county, has seen unusually high number of cats due to an extra breeding cycle caused by the warmer winter. The Adoption Center currently has about 300 cats in an area that holds 100 cats comfortably.
Along with promoting adoptions, the center is also holding free spay/neuter cat clinics for low income Oakland County residents and encouraging responsible pet ownership to help control the cat overpopulation.
To participate, join the Adoption Center at the Detroit Zoo, or stop by. They are located at 1700 Brown Road in Auburn Hills. For more information, call 248-391-0286.
