The Michigan Humane Society is supporting a program to help low-income people in Oakland County pay for the spaying or neutering of their cats.

The financial support will keep the program going into June, after which "we'll evaluate it," Humane Society spokeswoman Stephanie Baron.

Veterinarians do the procedure and a full checkup at the Oakland Pet Adoption Center in Auburn Hills for a $20 donation.

Call 248-391-0286, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays.
