Find Your Perfect Match - Valentine Pet Adoption Day
Auburn Hills, MI, January 30, 2008 -- The Oakland Pet Adoption Center would like to help you find your perfect pet match for this valentine season. On Saturday, February 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. the center will be holding an adoption event.
Everyone is welcome to attend, whether you are looking to adopt the perfect pet or would just like to visit and spread some love to the animals at the shelter. Volunteers and staff will be on hand to help you find your new pet that fits your lifestyle.
The Adoption Center has over 40 dogs and 75 cats up for adoption to choose from, so you are bound to find the pet of your dreams.
And for those pet lovers who can’t adopt, the center has a way you can still make a difference.
"We started a new program where people can sponsor a pet," said Joanie Toole, administrative supervisor of the Oakland Pet Adoption Center. "This program helps the shelter provide the chosen pet with all the necessary supplies it needs to be happy and healthy while waiting adoption."
Sponsoring a pet is easy, there are donation plans ranging from $5 which provides the pet with a toy or treat, all the way up to $100, covering food for a week, a spay/neuter procedure, all the shots and proper veterinary care.
"We will send anyone who sponsors a pet, a picture each month along with an update until the pet finds a new home," said Toole.
