How far outside of the County will I be able to use the new system?

That will vary with the direction outside of the County that a user is traveling. In general, portable coverage is guaranteed only within the County borders but experience has demonstrated that portables work several miles outside the county.  Mobile coverage typically extends up to 10 miles beyond the County borders. Additionally, the radios are programmed with the Nation-wide conventional 700 & 800 MHz calling and tactical channels.

How will my coverage be in (shopping mall, hotel, office building, factory) where we have trouble now?

The in-building portable coverage specifications developed by the Radio Oversight Committee are among the most stringent in the country, requiring coverage in 95% of medium density" buildings. However, no radio system can guarantee coverage inside of every portion of every building. One of the advantages of the M/A COM system is the ability to use Vehicular Tactical Repeaters (VTACs) to extend coverage into the heavier buildings. Unlike traditional vehicular repeaters, which can cause interference when several vehicles are at a scene, the VTACs have the ability to coordinate between themselves and operate on different channels when required.
